  •   How do you charge for your web services?
    • Each Xignite financial web service is available on subscription basis and carries a one-time signup fee. Prices quoted below are based on an annual pre-paid payment plan. Quarterly and semi-annual payment plans are also available for truly flexible licensing.

      You subscribe separately to each web service you need. We offer multiple subscription plans scaled according to the usage metric appropriate for each service, including:
      1. Number of hits per month,
      2. Number of symbols or securities,
      3. Number of exchanges.
  •   How does a subscription work?
    • You subscribe to each web service you need separately. We offer multiple subscription plans scaled according to the usage metric appropriate for each service, including:
      1. Number of hits per month,
      2. Number of symbols or securities,
      3. Number of exchanges.
      Please check each subscription plan for details.

      We design our subscription plans so that you only need to pay for the data or functionality you truly need. If you find this not the case, please let us know. We may be able to tailor a subscription plan to match your needs.

      You can use your subscription to access our web services from multiple servers located within a single data center.
  •   In your 'per site' subscriptions, what is a 'site'?
    • Our subscriptions allow you to call our web services from any number of servers located in the same site or data center. A site is any collection of servers located at the same physical mail address (including mail stop).
  •   In your 'per hit' subscriptions, what is a 'hit'?
    • Our subscriptions let you call a service for a certain number of hits. In most cases, a hit is a single call to an operation, i.e. GetQuote, GetExchanges, etc. While calling an operation is always a hit, some operations can count for more than one hit:
      1. 'Multi-symbol' operations that take more than one 'symbol' as parameter. Examples include GetQuote (XigniteQuotes), GetRealQuotes (XigniteRealTime), or GetHistorical (XigniteHistorical).
      2. 'Family' operations that return arrays of data for families of related items. An example would be GetRateFamily (XigniteRates).
      3. 'Table' operations that return multiple quotes structured as a table. An example would be GetRealTimeCrossRateTable (XigniteCurrencies).
  •   Do cached requests count as a hit?
    • Cached requests do not count as hits. Many of our operations cache their results for a certain period of time (from seconds to minutes depending on the operation). If the same request is placed twice against the same operation within that period, the same result is returned and both requests count as one hit.
  •   Does a subscription require a signup fee?
    • Yes, the signup fee for a subscription equals the cost for 1 month of that subscription.
  •   Is the sign up fee refundable?
    • If you are not satisfied with the service and found it unusable in some way we will refund your signup fee.

      We guarantee satisfaction with our web services and if you are unhappy please do not hesitate to let us know.
  •   What is the signup fee when I upgrade?
    • When you upgrade a service you will pay the difference between your previous sign up fee and the one you are upgrading to.

      For example, if you previously subscribed to a $99/month service with a $99 signup fee and want to upgrade to a $199/month service with a $1999 signup fee you would pay a $100 incremental signup fee ($199-$99) upon upgrading.
  •   Does a subscription require a time commitment?
    • Our pricing is based on an annual prepaid commitment. We can accommodate quarterly or biannually commitments but they are subject to an incremental fee.

  •   Do you offer a subscription that works across all your services?
    • No, each of our services has separate pricing. You must sign up for each service separately.
  •   When does my subscription start and stop?
    • By default, your subscription starts the day you sign up for a service online or sign an agreement. If you would like it to start at a different time please contact us.

      Your subscription will stop on the last day of the last period for which you paid.
  •   Can I subscribe for a one-time use?
    • Yes. You can purchase our web service for a one-time use. One-time uses are valid for 60 days and are priced at three times the amount of the corresponding monthly subscription.
  •   How do I choose the right subscription?
    • The best way to evaluate which subscription is right for your needs is to establish the number of hits you expect to use based on your daily hits and then identify the proper subscription.
  •   How will my subscription renew?
    • Whether you are signed up on an annual or quarterly basis your subscription will be renewed automatically, unless you have specified otherwise in your agreement.
  •   Will my service shutdown if I do not renew on time?
    • If you subscribe on a quarterly basis we will only shutdown your service if we've encountered payment issues and have not been able to contact you for 45 days.

      If you subscribe on an annual basis we will shutdown your service if we are unable to reach you after 60 days without payment.
  •   How do I upgrade my subscription?
    • You can upgrade your subscription at any time by using our website or by contacting us.

      To upgrade online simply indicate the new subscription level you would like and we will automatically upgrade you to the new level.

      To upgrade by contacting us directly, simply include the specific details of the upgrade you would like.
  •   How do I downgrade my subscription?
    • To downgrade, please contact us or call: 650.655.3700.
  •   How do I cancel my subscription?
  •   Do I get a refund if I cancel my subscription?
    • You can get a refund for any unused monthly portion of your subscription according to the specific terms outlined in your agreement.
  •   What type of agreement do I have to sign?
    • If you subscribe online simply approve the subscription by clicking on the agreement presented.

      If you subscribe offline, you have to sign a paper copy equivalent of the agreement online and return it to us.

      The Standard agreement is a click through and not available for review.
  •   What are the terms and conditions of a subscription?
    • We have 3 different levels of support:
      1. Basic,
      2. Standard, and
      3. Premium.
      You can find the terms and conditions for a basic subscription here.

      These terms and conditions are included in the agreement drawn when you sign up for a subscription. They vary only slightly depending on the level of support.
  •   Why are there such price differences between your services?
    • Not all financial data is created equal. Because some services contain unique or hard to obtain data, they might cost slightly more than those with more readily available or easily obtained information. We try to make sure our prices are as affordable as possible, but you can expect some services to be higher or lower than others due to the nature of the information.
  •   Do you provide higher education pricing?
    • We provide special pricing to higher-education organizations that plan to use our web services for research or coursework. Please contact us for more details.
  •   How much does the StrikeIron SOA Express for Excel Add-in cost?

  •   Can I subscribe and pay monthly?
    • No, we do not offer monthly subscriptions. Our standard is based on an annual subscription. However, we do offer both quarterly and bi-yearly subscriptions at a premium of 12% and 6%.
  •   Will I receive an invoice?
    • Yes. We will email you an invoice every billing period that you have chosen. If you are set up with payment by credit card, you will receive an invoice indicating that your credit card has been charged accordingly.
  •   What payment options do you support?
    • We support two payment options:
      1. Major Credit Cards - whereby we will charge your card automatically each billing period and send an invoice indicating that your card has been charged.
      2. Corporate Billing - whereby we will send a payable invoice for a check (if you are located within the U.S.) or wire transfer (if you are located internationally).


      Upon subscribing, you will be able to choose the option that works best for you.
  •   Will you automatically charge my card?
    • Yes and we will automatically email an invoice to you every month.
  •   What if my credit card information changes?
    • If the name, address or expiration date change on your credit card, please contact us at your earliest convenience. If you do not contact us, we will get a hold of you when it declines.
  •   Will you charge me if I exceed my allocated credits?
    • We will not charge you if you exceed your subscription credits. Your requests will still go through and you will not pay more for the additional requests. However, if this happens on an excessive or regular basis, we will contact you to suggest that you upgrade your subscription.

      Upon subscribing, you will be able to choose the option that works best for you.
  •   What happens if the price of my subscription increases?
    • Subscription prices are subject to change. However, if you are currently subscribed the maximum increase we will charge you is capped at 10% annually.

      We will automatically change the price of your subscription at the renewal of your subscription.
  •   How will I check the status of my account?
    • You can check the status of your account on our website.

      To do this you must first login to your account by clicking on 'Login' in the top right corner of the screen.

      To see your account information click on 'My Account', also located in the top right corner of the screen.

      When this page appears click on 'Subscription Status' under 'My Subscriptions'.
  •   How do I change my company or contact information?
    • You can change your company or contact info on our website.

      To do this you must first login to your account by clicking on 'Login' in the top right corner of the screen.

      To change your info click on 'My Account', also located in the top right corner of the screen. When this page appears, click on 'Edit Profile' under 'My Account Settings' and enter your new business information.

  •   At what time of the month will you invoice me?
    • We will invoice you within the week prior to your renewal subscription date.

      For example, if you have elected to be billed every month and your subscription started on the 15th of the month, you will receive an invoice every month in the week prior to the 15th.
  •   Can I use my subscription on multiple computers?
    • Yes, you can use your subscription on multiple computers as long as they are located in the same data center. A data center refers to either the same server form or the same physical location.
  •   Can I call your service from multiple locations?
    • Yes, but you need a separate subscription for each location.

      If you have multiple sites that pull the data at the same time, you need multiple subscriptions. However, for example, if one site is just a backup for the other, and will not be pulling data at the same time then you will be fine with one subscription.
  •   How will you know it is me when I call your service?
    • We will know it is you based on one of the following identification tools: your username/password, your IP address, or a cookie installed on your computer.
